Hi friend, I just got back last week from a week and a half out in Wyoming and Utah, and I'm still working through the images — but I can already tell there are some incredible ones in there. I'm holding a special exhibit of about 40 of my pieces — the largest exhibition of my work I've ever put together. It's a fundraiser for a mustang adoption center, so it's a great excuse to see the work in person and support a cause close to my heart at the same time. Flyer is below. This one had me a little nervous going in — black and white is genuinely tricky to print well, since most mass printing runs through a four-color press, and getting true blacks and clean grays out of that process isn't simple. But it came out beautiful, and I'm really proud of how it turned out.

About Me

I’ve been a full-time photographer for the past six years, but my journey with a camera began long before that. For over 15 years I specialized in headshots and portraits—controlled lighting, studio setups, and people who (mostly) listened when I asked them to stay still.

Then, about six years ago, I stumbled across wild horses. That encounter changed everything. Suddenly, my subjects weren’t in a studio—they were thundering across open ranges, unpredictable, untamed, and entirely indifferent to my camera. When I brought those first images home, I had no idea how to edit wildlife or moving subjects in such uncontrolled environments. All I knew was to treat them like portraits, giving each horse the same attention and respect I gave my studio clients.

Since then, I’ve spent countless hours chasing herds across the West—often in brutal conditions, from glaring sun to windstorms, at distances where even the best lenses struggle. Along the way I’ve had to teach myself how to capture and edit these moments so they retain the raw beauty and truth of the wild.

That blend of portrait training and years in the field has shaped my style into something unique—intimate, yet untamed. My goal is not just to take pictures of wild horses but to create images that let people feel their resilience, spirit, and presence.
